Docker Desktop is still the default answer when someone says "I need containers on my Mac." The GUI, Kubernetes toggle, extensions, and Hub integration are polished. The costs are RAM on your machine and, for larger companies, a paid subscription.
Personal remains free for individuals, education, open source, and small businesses under 250 employees and $10M revenue. Past that, Pro/Team/Business pricing applies. We ran Desktop beside a Colima-based CLI workflow on the same Compose stacks.
